On November 16, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Helga Schmid, who arrived in the country to participate in the international events, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
The talks focused on the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan-OSCE cooperation. The interlocutors discussed the results of the Action Plan for the implementation of OSCE Projects in Uzbekistan for 2021-2022, as well as key aspects of regional policy of Uzbekistan aimed at maintaining peace and security in Central Asia, stability and sustainable development and facilitating the integration of Uzbekistan into the global economic system and transnational transport and logistics links.
The OSCE Secretary General noted the positive role of the President of Uzbekistan in promoting cooperation with the authoritative international organisations, including the OSCE.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the OSCE Secretary General discussed cooperation in such areas as ecology and environmental protection, climate change mitigation, the Aral Sea crisis and humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
