Rahmon receives WHO Award for his valuable contribution to health systems development

The interlocutors focused on promoting partnerships in health care, public health and sanitation in the Republic.

On October 31, Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon met with WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Henri Kluge. The interlocutors discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation. They paid main attention to expanding partnerships in health care, public health and sanitation in Tajikistan, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The interlocutors exchanged views on cooperation in the development and implementation of the Public Health Strategy for the period until 2030, the Programme for health worker training for the period until 2030 and the Programme for the development of state health care institutions in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022-2025 aimed at strengthening the public health system, expand access to health services, promote healthy lifestyles and provide health care institutions with modern medical equipment.

The President noted that the authorities of Tajikistan would take further measures to build favourable health care and medicine infrastructures and improve access of citizens to quality health services.

The WHO Regional Director for Europe presented the WHO Award to the President of Tajikistan for his significant contribution to developing the public health system and improving people’s health, as well as his constructive efforts to deepen Tajikistan-WHO cooperation.
