Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the need to promote inter-parliamentary interaction with members of the world community at a regular meeting of the Parliament, the Turkmenistan: Today News Agency reported.
Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is making efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region and on the planet. Today, the countries of the region and the world show great interest in Turkmenistan as a reliable partner.
The Speaker of Halk Maslahaty emphasised the importance of parliamentary diplomacy that plays a key role in international relations in the face of global crises.
The Chairman of the Turkmen Parliament also emphasised the need for new initiatives to intensify contacts to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations towards identifying the major areas for joint activities and expanding and using ties for business purposes.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan aims to boost friendly and fruitful bilateral and multi-vector relations with all interested foreign partners in compliance with the peaceful foreign policy strategy.
