SOCAR from Azerbaijan plans to open an office in Turkmenistan. Deputy Head of the Department for Science and Technology of this oil and gas company Emin Alekperov made this statement at OGT-2022, the Voice of the CIS online radio reported.
Alekperov noted that the SOCAR President held talks with the Turkmen side on the expansion of cooperation in energy transit and the opening of a representative office in Turkmenistan. In his opinion, this will enable the two counties to promote cooperation in the oil and gas and logistics sectors.
Noting that Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have extensive pipeline networks between drilling platforms on the Caspian Sea shelf, the SOCAR representative emphasised that an effective business-like approach would help combine them to transport natural resources to foreign markets. Alekperov added that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan could join this process in the future.
Emin Alekperov emphasised the important role of OGT-2022 in establishing political, economic and cultural contacts among states.
