Social and economic development of Kashkadarya Region reviewed

The Uzbek leader held a meeting on the implementation of important social and economic projects in Kashkadarya Region.

On October 25, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting via videoconference to review the social and economic development indicators of Kashkadarya Region, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

The participants discussed the opportunities to develop private entrepreneurship, services sector and tourism in the region and create new jobs for local populations.

They put forward the proposals to boost industrial development of the region, in particular the development of mining and building materials industries. It is planned to implement over 60 industrial cooperation projects in the oil and gas, chemical and energy sectors.

It is planned to develop the agro-industrial sector in the region and increase agricultural output by 90 billion soums through improving water supply, which will allow creating thousands of new jobs.

Under the large-scale development plans for Kashkadarya Region, it is planned to increase clean water supply to 60%, repair several thousand kilometres of roads and bridges and build new clinics and kindergartens in mahallas.

The khokims of the region and districts submitted the proposals for the reduction of unemployment.

Additional budgetary funds will be allocated for the development of Kashkadarya Region in 2023 and 2024.
