Parliamentarians submit proposals for development of Kyrgyzstan’s textile sector

The Minister of Economy and Commerce reported on the current situation in Kyrgyzstan’s industrial sector.

On October 25, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiyev reported on the current situation in Kyrgyzstan’s industrial sector. The report on the fuel and energy sector, subsoil use and industrial policy was presented to parliamentarians, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“According to preliminary estimate by the National Statistical Committee, in January-September 2022, GDP reached 597.4 billion soms, and the real growth rate was 107.2%. This figure was 99.8% in the same period in 2021,” Amangeldiyev said.

He reported that since the beginning of the year, industrial enterprises have increased production to 299.2 billion soms, and manufacturing output has risen by 16.6% compared to the same period in 2021.

Commenting on the report, the parliamentarians emphasised the importance of developing the textile industry. In this context, a parliamentarian Alisher Kozuev noted the need to set up the cotton spinning industry, which would allow creating the entire textile production chain in the country.

The Parliament called on the Cabinet of Ministers to develop the industry under public-private partnership projects.
