On October 24, Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Balkan velayat, where he watched the field training exercise of the Armed Forces and other military branches at the Naval Training Centre, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.

The President visited an exhibition of air fighters, combat helicopters, cargo aircrafts and new military aircraft modifications that had arrived earlier at the Turkmenbashi international airport.

A Bayraktar TB2 drone was used for the first time in the field training exercise. Its combat capabilities and manoeuvrability were demonstrated to the participants on the monitor using the TürkmenÄlem 52oE satellite. The unmanned aerial vehicle accurately hit the intended target – a radar station at a distance of 8,000 metres.

The capabilities of one of the modern anti-aircraft missile system, which is in service with the armed forces of Turkmenistan and designed to repel armed group attacks and destroy drones, jet aircrafts, helicopters, air-to-ground missiles, cruise missiles and guided aerial bombs, were demonstrated to Berdimuhamedov during the field training exercise.

When visiting the exhibition of military equipment, including modern aircrafts and drones, the President noted that Turkmenistan would continue to work in this field towards maintaining peace and turning state borders into borders of friendship and brotherhood.
