Chairmen of Security Councils of Kyrgyzstan and Russia discuss problems faced by Kyrgyz migrants

The talks also focused on the current situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.

On October 18, Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Imankulov met with Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Oleg Khramov. The interlocutors discussed the current state and further intensification of Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral cooperation in addressing modern challenges and threats, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

They also discussed the current situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and the prospects for settling it.

In the context of Sadyr Japarov’s speech at the Russia-Central Asia Summit, Marat Imankulov dwelled in detail on the creation of the most favourable conditions for Kyrgyz citizens staying in Russia.

He emphasised the need to improve the procedure for migration registration.

Imankulov called on the Russian side to assist in removing barriers for the legalization of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and regulating their legal status in Russia. The Russian side was informed about the concern of the Kyrgyz side about potential restrictions on the validity of international and national driving licenses in Russia.
