Topographic groups of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan meet in Dushanbe

The parties discussed the delimitation line on the disputed sections of the common border.

The topographic groups on the delimitation and demarcation of state border from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan held a working meeting in Dushanbe. The representatives of the two countries discussed the delimitation line on the disputed border sections, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reports.

“The parties exchanged views on the delimitation line on the remaining sections of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border,” the report says.

It was decided to continue the discussion at the next meeting, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan.

As was reported, on October 13, the leaders of Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan held a trilateral meeting in Astana. The leaders of the three countries discussed the tense situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border. Putin said Moscow will raise documents and look for a solution for the border dispute, together with Dushanbe and Bishkek.

The Russian President noted that Moscow has more reliable information on the borders between the republics than the republics do. A meeting with the counterparts was very useful, Putin said.
