On October 13, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mazrouei on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in Astana. The interlocutors considered promoting bilateral ties, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the promotion of trade and economic relations and investment and expressed satisfaction with the level of political relations between the two fraternal and friendly countries.
They unanimously highlighted the importance of increasing the number of air routes and connecting capitals by launching direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Dushanbe.
They also considered exporting agricultural products from Tajikistan to the Emirates, including fresh fruits, dried fruits, vegetables and honey.
The interlocutors mentioned the energy industry, the establishment of mining and cotton processing joint ventures, the use of abundant hydropower resources and the implementation of investment projects among the promising areas of cooperation.
