South Korean companies to participate in new urban development projects

The prospects of cooperation were discussed during the visit of a delegation of South Korean companies to the Tashkent Khokimiyat.

A delegation of the Republic of Korea headed by Chairman of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. Jung Won-ju met with First Deputy Khokim for Architecture, Capital Construction and Communication Development Bakhtiyor Rakhmanov, the press office of the Tashkent Khokimiyat reported.

The South Korean delegation consisted of Chairman of the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Chang-keon, Senior Vice President at Daewoo Construction Group Seung Han and Chairman of Hanlim Park Jin Sun.

The participants reviewed the opportunities for the participation of the South Korean companies in a number of urban development projects in Tashkent.

The Deputy Khokim presented one of the projects to the Korean guests, which envisages building numerous social and industrial facilities in Yangihayot and Bektemir districts of the capital city, including residential buildings, shopping centres and industrial enterprises.

The members of the South Korean delegation their expressed readiness to invest in the Uzbek construction market and contribute to the implementation of new projects in the country.

The South Korean companies are involved widely in the construction of facilities in the capital city. For example, Bomi Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd and Evergreen Motors Group are actively working to build the business centres on Seoul Street and in the Tashkent City.
