Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Prime Minister of Hungary

The talks in the narrow and expanded formats resulted in reaching agreements on further steps to intensify partnerships.

On October 4, Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation with Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the second day of his visit to the capital of Hungary. The President of Uzbekistan has completed his official visit, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The parties noted the progress in promoting strategic and economic partnerships. They identified trade, economy, investment and industrial cooperation as the priority areas to build up cooperation. They noted an increase in bilateral trade and new opportunities to increase commodity turnover.

Uzbekistan and Hungary express their intention to provide mutual benefits and preferences and set up joint ventures that have access to the markets of the CIS, Asian and the Middle East countries.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Viktor Orban took part in the expanded talks of the official delegations of the two countries.

With the aim to build up multi-vector cooperation, the two countries are planning to boost cooperation in agriculture, transport, water conservation, electrical engineering and the pharmaceutical, textile and food industries. The two countries will set up the joint Fund to finance priority projects and hold joint business forums and exhibitions.

The parties agreed to open a diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in the capital of Hungary.

Following the talks, a Joint Statement on strategic partnerships between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Hungary and 14 documents on Uzbekistan-Hungary strategic cooperation were signed.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev returned to Tashkent on the same day.
