On October 3, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The interlocutors discussed the effective implementation of the national strategies of the two countries, including the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 and the Vision 2030, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
As was reported, the parties expressed interest in boosting the activities of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asia, the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the Association of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.
The interlocutors considered the prospects for expanding and enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, politics, light industry, transport, construction, agriculture and tourism and attracting investment in these sectors.
Rahmon and Farhan Al Saud also discussed the political situation in Afghanistan, noting the importance of countering terrorism and extremism, illicit drug trafficking and organized transnational crime.
