On October 3, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov gave specific instructions at the government meeting to ensure that citizens of the country have free access to coal at the reasonable price, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.
Minister of Industry Kairbek Uskenbayev reported that the country produced over 73 million tonnes of the solid fuel for 8 months of the year. The cost of raw materials on the main coal mines remained on the same level as last year.
The Minister said uninterrupted supplies of the product to the trading zones were provided to avoid a sharp rise in domestic prices. Additional measures were taken to reduce significantly coal transportation by road outside the country for 6 months. Coal is sold on the information platforms for convenience of citizens.
The Prime Minister approved these approaches, noting that they save time for consumers. Smailov instructed to conduct on-site trips to raise awareness and popularize this format of trade. He tasked the Ministry of Industry, the regional authorities and the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition to keep under special control the distribution of coal and exclude the factors that could contribute to unreasonable retail price hikes.
