The British Embassy in Ashgabat will hold the first climate and environmental festival “Let’s Save the World Together!” on October 9 from 3 pm to 8 pm on October 9 as part of the events marking the 30th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. Young environmental activists are taking part in the festival, which will be held at the Ak Altyn Hotel, the Turkmenistan: Golden Age News Agency reported.
The event aims to raise awareness of the most pressing climate change issues that is one of the greatest threats to the Earth and inspire public action to combat climate change and protect the environment across the country. The programme of the festival that is open to visitors of all ages includes live performances, eco-friendly workshops for children, an exhibition of solar panels, quizzes and games, music and dances, guest speaker presentations and David Attenborough’s film A Life on Our Planet.
The above activities will help many people become aware of environmental problems and the negative effects of climate change and realize the need for a personal contribution to mitigating climate change. Entry to the festival is free, but each participant must bring one used plastic bottle as an “entry fee”.
