Rahmon raises issues of Tajik-Kyrgyz border clashes in conversation with Mirziyoyev

On September 20, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation. Rahmon informed the Uzbek leader about the latest developments in the situation on the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.

The two leaders also exchanged views on key aspects of Tajik-Uzbek relations and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of strategic partnerships and alliance.

The two leaders discussed the outcomes of the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that ended in Samarkand last week.

Rahmon highly evaluated preparatory work for the important regional event that resulted in the adoption of a solid package of resolutions and documents in various areas of activities.

Following the SCO Summit in Samarkand, the Samarkand Declaration of the SCO Council of Heads of States was adopted.

This document sets forth joint approaches to ensuring regional stability and sustainable economic development, strengthening transport and communication contacts and fostering cultural dialogue.
