President of Kazakhstan and Patriarch of Jerusalem support ideas of peacebuilding

The distinguished guest arrived in Nur-Sultan to participate in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

On September 13, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a meeting with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem at the Akorda Residence. The interlocutors discussed the vectors of development of interreligious and inter-confessional relations and constructive cooperation, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Kazakh leader thanked the Patriarch for arriving in Kazakhstan and participating in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. In this context, the President emphasised the unwavering commitment of the Patriarch to advancing the lofty goals and well-aimed objectives of the international forum.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem thanked the President of the Republic for the invitation to attend the major forum, which was the third forum in his biography. The Patriarch highlighted the growing need to take decisive and steadfast measures through joint efforts to develop algorithms to strengthen the values of peace, cohesion and mutual respect.

The distinguished visitor expressed belief that the outcomes of the forum would contribute to identifying the routes of peacebuilding.
