On September 8, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said state independence of Tajikistan is a historic event in the life of the ancient Tajik nation in his message of congratulation on the 31st anniversary of this significant date, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
The President noted that state independence has created a unique historical opportunity for the Tajik people to unite under their national flag, address the hardest challenges and overcome the most difficult obstacles through cohesive, constructive labour and lead the country to sustainable socio-economic development.
Rahmon stressed that Tajikistan has achieved economic and social development during the years of independence despite the negative effects of crisis factors and global processes.
The President wished all citizens of the country happiness, prosperity, good luck and abundance.
Earlier, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali signed the decree on the allocation of financial aid to 5,000 needy citizens on the eve of the celebration of the 31st anniversary of independence.
