The finalists of the Garaşsyzlygyň Merjen Däneleri (Pearls of Independence) Children’s Music and Song Contest, dedicated to the 31st anniversary of independence, performed in a gala concert at Türkmeniň ak öýi (Turkmen white yurt) in Ak Bugday etrap, the Turkmenistan Today State News Agency reported.
This contest aims to reveal and support talented children from comprehensive and music schools and art centres from all over the country. The organisers believe that the competition will also help raise patriotism and love for national art among children. Preliminary rounds, which were held in several stages in the cities, etraps, velayats, determined the best of the best.
The programme of the gala concert included the wonderful works, demonstrating not only all the facets of the talents of the contestants, but also the richness of national music and culture. The popularisation of folk and pop songs contributes to enlarging music and singing art, which is one of the key goals of the children’s contest.
The jury announced the names of the laureates who received valuable gifts on behalf of Serdar Berdimuhamedov and laureate diplomas. All young performers received memorable prizes that would inspire the younger generation to improve their skills and achieve their goals on the path of creativity.
