On August 30, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev congratulated the people of the country on the national holiday – Constitution Day, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.
This year’s holiday is marked by a specific political factor, the President said. The results of the nationwide referendum on constitutional reform proved the common impulse of the nation to support ongoing reforms and the desire to live in a transformed country.
The President specified that the friendly society is building the New Kazakhstan together, guided by the principles of the rule of law, justice and equality of opportunity for all. The time has come when citizens with their inherent responsibility can make a worthy contribution to the architecture and development of the state, the President of the Republic emphasised.
The President noted that the values of democracy and the guarantees of human rights and freedoms, as the main content of the Constitution, underlie the advancement strategy of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh leader said the key expediency of all reforms is the improvement in citizens’ wellbeing and called on every citizen of the country to take an active part in fulfilling these ambitious tasks.
