RK Prime Minister instructs to speed up development of Zhasyl Kazakhstan national concept

The project envisages setting up automated air emissions monitoring systems at large industrial facilities.

On August 23, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov considered the approaches to the implementation of the Zhasyl Kazakhstan national project at a government meeting. Smailov instructed to develop environmental action plans, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Chairman of the Government noted that automated air emissions monitoring systems will be installed at large-scale industrial enterprises in 2023. This approach will allow obtaining reliable data on emissions at every plant and, if necessary, promptly responding to excessive amounts of emissions, the Prime Minister emphasised.

It was reported that 2 billion trees are to be planted in accordance with the instructions of the President. This work is designed for five years. This year, the implementation of this action in Aktobe and West Kazakhstan Regions is a high risk of failure due to insufficient funding. In this regard, Smailov instructed the Ministry of Finance and the regional authorities to jointly look into the matter. The Chairman of the Government stressed that payments for environmental services should be used to improve the environmental situation.

In this context, the Prime Minister instructed the environmental department and regional administrations to submit an environmental concept of each region.
