Tajikistan and Israel discuss current state and prospects of cooperation

The countries held regular political consultation.

On August 18, Tajikistan and Israel held regular political consultation in Dushanbe. The emphasis was placed on the prospects of mutually beneficial bilateral interaction, the press office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.

The Tajik side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Husseinzoda. The Israeli delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Simona Halperin.

The officials discussed the current state of bilateral relations and identified potential vectors for further cooperation. The emphasis was placed on economy, science, energy, agriculture and tourism. The parties also considered aspects of partnerships between Tajikistan and Israel within the international organisations.

In March, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the letters of credence from Ambassador of Israel Zehavit Ben-Hillel. The Tajik leader said he regards the promotion of cooperation with the Middle Eastern country as an integral part of the foreign policy of Tajikistan.
