Tokayev approves development plan of newly established Ulytau Region

The plan was developed in accordance with the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan.

On August 17, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a working meeting with Akim of newly established Ulytau Region Berik Abdygaliuly. The Akim presented for consideration the draft Social and Economic Development Plan of Ulytau for 2022-2026, the press office of Akorda reported.

The document was developed in accordance with the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan. The project envisages implementing 240 measures to diversify the national economy and branch social and industrial platforms in the region.

The head of regional administration informed that it is planned to attract investments, create a geological cluster, increase solid mineral extraction, develop new deposits and build a modern meat processing complex and poultry and greenhouse networks.

In social terms, the project envisages building 133,000 square metres of housing facilities, modernising the regional hospital and opening oncology and perinatal centres in Zhezkazgan and clinics, schools and kindergartens in all districts of the region. The issues of regular water supply and convenient roads will be addressed.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev supported the large-scale project and instructed to develop it jointly with the relevant government agencies.
