On August 16, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Chairman of the Accounts Committee Natalia Godunova, who reported on the progress of planned activities of the Accounts Committee, the press office of Akorda reported.
The President was informed in detail about the key performance indicators of the Accounts Committee for the first half of the year and the fulfilment of the President’s instructions.
The Accounts Committee conducted 14 audit inspections at 77 large public facilities during the reporting period, the Chairman said. In general, the audit inspections reached 1.3 trillion tenge of budget funds in financial terms.
Natalya Godunova reported on the measures taken to implement reform and raise the status of the audit system. The Chairman of the Committee informed about preliminary steps for the reorganisation of the Accounts Committee into the Supreme Audit Chamber. In conclusion, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev instructed the Chairman of the Accounts Committee to continue to effectively develop the audit potential.
