Leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey discuss aspects of cooperation

The leaders of the two states exchanged views on the prospects for building up strategic partnerships.

On August 15, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The talks focused on further strengthening Uzbekistan-Turkey strategic partnerships in key areas.

The parties noted the high dynamics of development of bilateral cooperation in compliance with the high-level agreements.

Uzbekistan continues to implement joint projects with Turkish companies in the trade, economic, transport, logistics and industrial sectors, bilateral trade indicators are growing and cultural and humanitarian relations are getting stronger.

The two leaders highly evaluated the outcomes of the meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs, trade and transport of Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan, which was held in Tashkent in early August. The parties expressed their readiness to promote cooperation in this format. They also highly evaluated the organisation of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey, where Uzbek athletes are performing   successfully, among other athletes.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey exchanged views on cooperation within the international organisations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Organization of Turkic States.
