The President of Uzbekistan attended the presentation of projects aimed at creating and diversifying transnational transport corridors.

On August 9, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the presentation of projects aimed at creating and diversifying transnational transport corridors and proposed to set up logistics joint ventures with Turkmenistan and Pakistan. Along with output growth, the development of routes to world markets is of tremendous and urgent importance for Uzbekistan, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Industry and entrepreneurship are developing successfully. Since the beginning of the year, exports have grown by 1.3 times compared to the same period of 2021 and reached $8.2 billion. 50,000 enterprises have been set up, and the number of exporting companies has grown to over 7,500.

This year, these companies have arranged deliveries of domestic products to 32 new markets. The state partially compensates them for transportation costs and provides other benefits. Currently, Uzbekistan exports its goods along 9 transport corridors.

The President emphasised the need to develop optimal routes for entrepreneurs, which will allow reducing losses in transportation.

As was reported, the commodity turnover between Uzbekistan and the Central Asian states increased by more than $6 billion.
