The Turkmen movie «Gyzyl kürte» («Red kurte») will take part in the first International Film Festival of debuts of the Eurasian continent «One Sixth». The event will be held in Yekaterinburg, the administrative center of the Ural Federal District of Russia, on August 12-17. It was reported by the electronic newspaper «Golden Age».
The director of the movie is Sahysalyh Bayramov. The film takes place during the Great Patriotic War. It tells about a girl living in the village, whose fiancé went to the front. In one of the letters, the guy asks the bride not to take off her red kurte (wedding robe-cape, which is decorated with Turkmen ornaments).
In Turkmenistan, the film was shown as part of the Culture Week 2022. The movie also took part in the TURKSOY film forum in the Republic of Turkey in July this year. According to Bayramov, the motion picture received a lot of positive feedback.
«One-Sixth» will be held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region. As part of this event, meetings in the format of an acting workshop will be held. The participants of the meetings will be able to discuss topical issues of the industry and make presentations to casting directors, agents, directors and producers.
