The document marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On August 5, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Joao Gomes Cravinho signed a Joint Declaration that marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reports.

In the document, the parties mentioned good bilateral relations within the international organisations and expressed their readiness to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

“Cooperation and friendship between Tajikistan and Portugal are not confined to the bilateral format. Our countries have a long history of mutual support within the international organisations, the core of which is the UN,” the Joint Declaration says.

The interlocutors emphasised that Tajikistan and Portugal as Participating States of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are doing important work based on the principles of inclusiveness and consensus.
