Tashkent Khokim receives delegations of Astrakhan and Chelyabinsk Regions

The talks focused on building up trade, economic, industrial, cultural and humanitarian partnerships.

On August 3, Tashkent Khokim Jakhongir Artikkhojaev met with the delegations of Astrakhan and Chelyabinsk Regions of the Russian Federation, the press office of the Tashkent Khokimiyat reported.

Governor Alesey Teksler headed the Chelyabinsk Region delegation, and the Astrakhan Region delegation consisted of Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of Astrakhan Region Ilya Volynsky.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the construction, communal, education, tourism and cultural sectors.

Chelyabinsk Region is the leading producer of high-strength facade glass for high-rise buildings, tower cranes, fire equipment and trams. These products may be in demand in Uzbekistan. The Chelyabinsk Region Governor underlined the importance of opening regular direct flights between Uzbekistan and Chelyabinsk Region, improving logistics routes and promoting tourism, including medical tourism. Chelyabinsk Region is ready to promote industrial cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Ilya Volynsky put forward a proposal to open a trading house of Uzbekistan in Astrakhan, which will facilitate the entry of Uzbek products to the Russian market and boost cooperation in the agricultural sector, as well as to enhance contacts in the education sector (Astrakhan State University has a branch in Tashkent).
