An official signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the US Government on the USAID Learn Together Activity took place in Dushanbe, the press office of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan reported.
Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan Rahim Saidzoda and Mission Director for USAID in Tajikistan Peter Riley signed the document. The primary goal of the project is to improve the quality and capacity of the education system in the Central Asian country.
The Memorandum envisages strengthening the education management system at all levels.
The Learn Together Activity is an integral part of the technical and economic assistance programme of the US Government in Tajikistan and the continuation of the USAID’s Read with Me Activity.
Earlier, Saidzoda stated that the quality of primary school education in Tajikistan is assessed as unsatisfactory. He noted that the Ministry is working to eliminate existing shortcomings.
