On August 2, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov, who arrived in Uzbekistan for a visit, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
The talks focused on the joint implementation of the programmes aimed at ensuring interregional security and sustainable development.
The interlocutors positively evaluated the level of cooperation in the economic, environmental, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as international security. The OSCE High Commissioner expressed support for Uzbekistan’s initiatives to strengthen friendly and economic ties in the Central Asian region and assist Afghanistan.
They discussed the progress of the implementation of educational multilingual projects, including within the Central Asia Education Programme.
The interlocutors agreed to hold the joint events, including a regional seminar on interethnic harmony and a roundtable on interethnic relations.
