Severe drought may hit Kazakhstan in August

According to the weather reports, a drought that has devastating effects on the environment is expected to hit two large regions of the Republic.

Driest August is expected to hit several districts of Kyzylorda and Mangistau Regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazhydromet Republican State Enterprise Kazhydromet reports.

Weather forecasters reported that no precipitation is expected to drop in Aktobe, Karaganda and Kostanay Regions, and eventually a limited moisture supply is predicted. However, the situation is not depressing. In August, moistening conditions throughout Kazakhstan are close to normal, experts noted.

A soil drought will occur in Karmakshy district of Kyzylorda Region and Karakiya and Mangistau districts of Mangitstau Region. No rainfall is expected to drop in two districts of Aktobe Region, one of the largest regions of Karaganda Region and two districts of Kostanay Region.

Climate with regular rainfall will prevail in the districts on the north and west of Aktobe Region and five districts of West Kazakhstan Region.
