Tajikistan has received over 15 million COVID-19 vaccine doses

This number of doses have been delivered since the launch of the vaccination campaign.

More than 15.157 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been delivered to the Republic of Tajikistan through the worldwide initiative aimed at equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines (COVAX) since the launch of the vaccination campaign, the press office of the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan reported.

In January-June this year, about 1.99 million Moderna vaccine doses, almost 897,400 Pfizer vaccine doses and approximately 1 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses arrived in the country.

Since the beginning of the year, the total number of citizens of Tajikistan who have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine amounted to about 5.3 million, or 94% of the population of the Central Asian state. 73.3% of citizens of the Republic have received the third dose.

Tajikistan has tightened the border control measures to limit the spread of the outbreak. Travellers were required to through temperature scanner and show vaccination certificates at airports and ground checkpoints. The last confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded in the country on February 18, 2022. Since March 7, citizens are not required to wear a mask.
