Government of Kyrgyzstan reports on banquet for parliamentarians

The President’s Administration reminded that such events are a long-established tradition.

On July 1, the Information Policy Service of the President’s Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that no budgetary funds have been allocated to arrange a banquet for parliamentarians on behalf of Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reported.

“Such events are a long-established tradition. One of the goals of such informal meetings is to foster a dialogue between the executive and legislative branches of government” the report says.

The President’s Administration informed that the banquet was paid for from extrabudgetary funds. No funds from the republican budget were used to cover the associated costs.

On June 30, Akylbek Japarov arranged a banquet for parliamentarians to mark the end of the first session of the Parliament of VII convocation. This is not the first time that parliamentarians have been invited to the banquet; a banquet was arranged last year.

In 2021, Speaker of the Parliament Talant Mamytov arranged a banquet for parliamentarians to mark the end of the extraordinary session of Jogorku Kenesh.
