On June 22, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a working meeting with Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbaev, who reported on the preparatory work for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Confessions, which is scheduled to take place on September 14-15, the press office of Akorda reported.
It was noted that the main thematic vector of the forum of religious figures from many countries of the world will be the discussion of the prospects of social and spiritual development of mankind in the recovery period after the pandemic. Religious leaders are expected to be the delegates of the global forum.
The Speaker informed that the Congress Secretariat is carrying out large-scale preparations to conduct the event in an effective and contrastive manner.
The Speaker reported on the outcomes of the 2nd session of the Parliament of the seventh convocation. He noted that 68 laws in various fields have been approved and submitted for signature by the President of the Republic. The Speaker said parliamentarians have initiated 18 bills at the previous session. Maulen Ashimbaev reported on the progress of constitutional reform.
