Prime Minister urges to effectively stimulate pharmaceutical manufacturers

The President of Kazakhstan set the task to increase the share of domestic pharmaceutical products in the domestic market to 50%.

On June 14, Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov considered the vectors of development of Kazakhstan’s medical and pharmaceutical industries at the government meeting, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat reported that the pharmaceutical industry has significantly increased production. An increasing progression has been observed in the industry for the past two years. The Minister attributed this achievement to the growth of pharmaceuticals output at Chimpharm JSC, Nobel AFF JSC, Abdi Ibrahim GlobFarm LLP and Kelun-Kazpharm LLP.

The Prime Minister noted that the leader of Kazakhstan had set the task to bring the share of domestic pharmaceutical products in the domestic market to 50% by 2025. In this context, he positively evaluated the progress of the implementation of the projects aimed at ensuring the supply of medicinal products to the population and enhancing competitiveness of pharmaceutical products.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasised that state support provided under the long-term agreements should contribute to saturating domestic pharmaceutical markets and increasing exports of Kazakhstan-made pharmaceutical products.

The Prime Minister gave specific instructions to the relevant organisations to develop the approaches to attracting the world-famous manufacturers to Kazakhstan under the auspices of Big Pharma to help the domestic manufacturers enter world markets.
