The Deputy Minister of Investments of Uzbekistan and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia considered building up cooperation in a number of areas during the meeting.

Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Kamarudin Jaffar, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.

The talks focused on the prospects for promoting bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The interlocutors noted the growth in trade through mutual exports of consumer goods that are in demand in the two countries. The areas of partnerships to be promoted include halal certification, which will increase competitiveness of Uzbek goods in the market of Islamic countries.

The interlocutors also considered the prospects for boosting cooperation on tourism through resuming flights between the two countries and increasing passenger numbers.

Under the agreements, representatives of Malaysia’s business circles are scheduled to visit Uzbekistan in November this year to sign new trade contracts and develop joint investment projects.
