On May 18, Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov met with US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum in the capital of Uzbekistan, the press office of the Ministry reported.
The talks focused on Uzbekistan-US cooperation in the IT sector and the development of Uzbekistan into a regional IT centre.
Representatives of the sectoral departments of Uzbekistan and IT companies and foreign specialists hold meetings under this project in Uzbekistan.
The participants considered the measures aimed at turning Uzbekistan into a regional information technology centre, including enhancing cooperation with American IT companies, implementing the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 Programme and adopting the best international practices to improve e-government, digital economy and industry.
The parties also noted the importance of providing remote BPO and KPO (business process outsourcing) services and setting up BPO and KPO centres throughout the country.
