Turkmenistan receives WHO award for efforts of healthcare workers

At the ceremony, it was noted that the authorities pay close attention to protecting people’s health.

Turkmenistan received an award from the World Health Organization. The document recognizes the efforts of healthcare workers within the COVID-19 prevention. The ceremony was attended by local officials, specialists, and representatives of the United Nations, as reported by the WHO press office.

During the event, it was noted that the hospitals of the country have modern medical equipment. The authorities pay special attention to promoting an active lifestyle among local citizens. For that purpose, they have created the necessary infrastructure.

The Saglyk (Health) program initiated by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is successfully implemented in the Central Asian country. Measures to improve the treatment of various infectious diseases in the state are taken.

To date, Turkmenistan reported no cases of COVID-19 infection. This is the only mainland country without the specified virus.

From June 1, the citizens of the country are allowed to be outside without a mask.
