Turkmen embassy holds international webinar on Akhal-Teke horses

Officials and admirers of the steeds took part in the virtual event.

On May 16, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria held an international webinar, which was attended by local officials and horse lovers from several countries. During the event, particular attention was paid to the inclusion of the Turkmen arts of horse breeding in the UNESCO list. It was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The webinar was held under the topic «Ahal-Teke horses are the wings of the Turkmen people». It was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic partnership between Turkmenistan and Austria. The Turkmen-Austrian Society helped the diplomatic mission organize the event.

Both government officials and admirers of Akhal-Teke horses from Austria, Hungary and France took part in the meeting. It was also attended by journalists, public figures and representatives of the diaspora.

Chinar Rustemova, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, spoke about the status of the project to include the Turkmen arts of Akhal-Teke breeding in the UNESCO Representative List.
