Parliament of Kyrgyzstan proposes to reduce traffic congestion in Bishkek and Osh

Shakiyev proposed a number of measures that would help improve the situation.

On April 21, a parliamentarian of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev raised the question on solving the traffic congestion problem in Bishkek and Osh during the parliamentary session, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.

He believes that not the expansion of the roadway, but the improvement of the quality of roads and the construction of transport interchanges, bicycle and pedestrian paths will significantly improve the situation.

A parliamentarian Akbokon Tashtanbekov proposed to conduct workshops and training seminars for heads of ayil okmotu and deputies of local kenesh. He noted that many representatives of local governments and local keneshes lack sufficient experience and knowledge to fulfil the assigned tasks.

The parliamentarians also discussed the provision of equipment for rehabilitation centres throughout the country and the construction of schools in Suzak and Toktogul Regions.

They discussed the provision of the residents of Kyzyl-Kiya with drinking water that is supplied to the region once every 4 days.
