On April 20, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the 12th meeting of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association. During the event, the head of the state outlined the main tasks of the organization. It was reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
Berdimuhamedov stressed that the state association Türkmen atlary («Turkmen horses») and the above organization need to strengthen interaction with foreign horse breeding organizations; increase the number of Akhal-Teke horses; hold more conferences, competitions, expositions and auctions; form new breeding lines.
He also instructed the relevant representatives to arrange the horse races abroad; create an international studbook of purebred Akhal-Teke horses; promote the art of horse racing in the world through books; and encourage representatives of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association.
Earlier, the international beauty contest for Akhal-Teke horses was held in Turkmenistan. This Sunday, April 24, the country will celebrate the Turkmen Horse Day.
