In Yerevan, Muhammetgeldi Ayazov, head of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan, met with Tigran Torosyan, head of the UNESCO Department at the Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages. It was reported by the online newspaper «Golden Age» on January 25.
The parties discussed bilateral partnership between countries in the field of cultural heritage. They underlined the importance of expanding relevant cooperation.
Ayazov introduced Torosyan to such objects of cultural heritage of Turkmenistan as Merv, Kunyaurgench, Nisa, Gorogly epic, carpet weaving, Akhal-Teke horses, alabai, dutar (musical instrument), kushdepdi (national dance). It is important to note that all these objects have been included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.
The Ambassador also gave the university employee the book of the leader of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov «Swift Tread of the Horse», which was awarded the «Grand Prix» of the thirtieth Moscow International Book Exhibition-Fair of the International Competition of the CIS Member States «The Art of the Book».
