On December 21, Director at the Institute of Astrophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Gulchekhra Kokhirova has received the Star of the Commonwealth Award. The event will take place in a hybrid format, and the awards will be presented online, the press office of the CIS Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation reported.
Kokhirova received the award for her outstanding achievements of universal value in the humanitarian sphere, which contribute to the development of the CIS countries. The award was established by the CIS Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation and the CIS Council for Humanitarian Cooperation.
The CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform during the official event. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbuloglu, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy and IFESCCO Executive Director Anatoly Iksanov will attend the ceremony.
Kokhirova has received this award for the second year in a row. The winners of the previous years include an artist Vafo Nazarov, a poet Nizom Kosim, People’s Artist of Tajikistan Ibodullo Mashrabov and a writer Timur Zulfikarov.
