30 Russian tanks arrive in Tajikistan

The T-72B3M main battle tanks were delivered to Russia’s Military Base 201.

The largest military facility of the Russian Federation beyond its borders – Military Base 201 in Tajikistan has received 30 T-72B3M tanks. This self-propelled armoured vehicle has improved combat characteristics, the press office of the Central Military District reported on December 6.

The tanks are equipped with a new propulsion system. They have the complex of built-in passive and active protection, Aqueduct communication system and Sosna-U multichannel sighting system with a thermal imager.

The fighting compartment of the tank is modernized. It uses a 125 mm gun with a panoramic sight, which allows locating the target more accurately and destroying it quickly.

Commander of the Central Military District Alexander Lapin noted that three motorized rifle battalions had been rearmed. New anti-tank missile systems, rifles, flamethrowers and machine guns had been delivered to the above military base, the Colonel-General added.
