Rahmon and Pashinyan discuss situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border

The President of Tajikistan called on Yerevan and Baku to follow the agreements reached.

On November 17, a telephone conversation between President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan took place at the initiative of Yerevan. The interlocutors discussed the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

The Prime Minister of Armenia, who is Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, informed Rahmon of developments on the border area.

The leader of Tajikistan called on the conflicting parties to follow the agreements reached. He said the situation should be resolved by peaceful means without resorting to the use of weapons through political and diplomatic efforts.

As was reported, the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border escalated on November 13. The Ministry of Defence of Armenia stated that the armed forces of Azerbaijan had tried to penetrate into the territory of Armenia.

Baku reported on the attack on the military posts in Azerbaijan by the Armenian military and accused Yerevan of aggravating the situation.
