Large batch of China’s coronavirus vaccine arrives in Tajikistan

Humanitarian aid will contain 500,000 doses of the CoronaVac vaccine made in China.

On November 7, a large batch of the coronavirus vaccine will be delivered to the Republic of Tajikistan from the PRC. The vaccine will be provided as humanitarian assistance, Spokesman at the Ministry of Health Navruz Jafarov said, the press office of the Ministry reported.

The head of the department of sanitary and epidemiological safety for emergencies and emergency medical care of the Ministry noted that the vaccine would be distributed evenly among healthcare institutions. The total number is 500,000 doses.

Jafarov emphasised that about 5.19 million doses of coronavirus vaccines had arrived in the Republic as humanitarian aid during the pandemic. These include CoronaVac (People’s Republic of China), Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech (United States of America), AstraZeneca (Europe) and Sputnik V (Russian Federation).

As of November 3, 2.78 million people have been vaccinated in Tajikistan. About 2.16 million people have received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The total number of registered cases has reached 17,086. 124 people have died from the coronavirus disease.
