Director at the Centre for Strategic Studies Khurshed Ziyoi raised this topic at the medical forum.
On October 27, Director at the Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Khurshed Ziyoi highlighted the urgency of setting up the Centre for Microbiology and Virology in Dushanbe. He said the complicated epidemiological situation so required, the press office of the Centre for Strategic Studies reported.
This topic was raised at the forum “Health as an important factor of social protection”. Government officials, scientists and employees of research centres attended the forum.
According to Ziyoi, the epidemiological situation in Tajikistan had not been fully stabilized over the past two years; a similar trend was observed in many other states. The Central Asian republic was experiencing a shortage of virologists, epidemiologists, immunologists and resuscitators, the Director at the Centre for Strategic Studies added.
Along with setting up the above Centre, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection is tasked to intensify retraining, enhance training for virology laboratory staffs and send specialists to study abroad at the expense of physicians, biologists and veterinarians.
