Government of Kazakhstan tightens epidemic control at state border

This measure is dictated by the worsening epidemiological situation in neighbouring countries.

On October 26, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a government meeting on the current sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country. The Prime Minister highlighted the need to tighten epidemic control at state borders, the office of the Prime Minister reported.

The Minister of Health reported that the services of the Ministry were monitoring the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country. Currently, over 8.2 million people have completed the first phase of vaccination, and over 7.4 million – the second phase of vaccination.

The Prime Minister expressed concern about the worsening epidemic situation in the neighbouring countries. In this regard, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed that the Ministry of Health tighten epidemic control at state borders.

The akims of the border regions were instructed to ensure strict compliance with sanitary regulations on their territories, conduct the analysis of incidence rates and take prompt measures, if necessary. Askar Mamin tasked the Ministry of Health and Information to continue awareness raising activities among citizens about the “evil” symptoms of coronavirus and the importance of vaccination and revaccination.
