Kazakhstan has surpassed vaccine milestone of 8 million

The Ministry of Health reported that the incidence rate in the regions of the country had fallen significantly.

On October 19, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a government meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation. The Ministry of Health reported that the epidemiological situation in the country was currently stable, the press office of the Prime Minister reported to CentralAsia.news.

Minister of Health Alexei Tsoi reported on a significant decline in incidence rates and complex manifestations, as well as the reduced numbers of patients at outpatient clinics and hospitals at all the regional divisions across the Republic.

The Minister said more than 8 million citizens of the country had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and about 7.2 million people had received the second dose. Health professionals were to achieve herd immunity at 60%, the Minister emphasised.

As for the prevalence of coronavirus disease, Aktobe, Turkestan, Zhambyl, Mangistau and Kyzylorda Regions and Shymkent are in the green zone. Atyrau, Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions are in the yellow zone. Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Akmola and the Kostanay and North Kazakhstan administrative territories remain in the red zone.

The flu vaccination campaign is being conducted; to date, 1.4 million people have been vaccinated. The Prime Minister set the task not to slow down the pace of the vaccine rollout.
